I have been enjoying a series of posts by Alexandra Franzen. People write her with blogging, marketing, and other questions and she answers them in a series of blog posts. I enjoy her writing style and clear concise answers. A recent post, GOOD QUESTION: How can I protect my ideas from copycats & encourage folks to credit me, properly?, was so full of good information I had to share with you.
“You can’t take any legal action to enforce your copyright until you officially register with the Copyright Office. There are clear instructions how to do this (it’s cheap, like a $35 registration fee) at: http://copyright.gov“
She also discusses trademarks and other legal issues we all need to be aware of.
Take a few minutes and read her post, I think you will learn a thing or two and keep yourself out of hot water with copyright issues.
