7 Ways to Drive Blog Traffic

Every blogger would love more traffic.   There are some tried and true ways that can help you drive traffic to your blog.   I thought I would share my 7 favorites.

1. Create AWESOME Content

Content is king.  You need good content and lots of it.  A high priority goal should be awesome content creation.

2. Be a Guest Contributor on Other Blogs

One of the best ways to get traffic is to get it from people who already have traffic. If you can nurture relationships with other bloggers and contribute awesome content to their blog with a link back to your blog in your bio at the end of the post, that can result in a significant amount of traffic.

Trending3. Cover Trending Topics

When a topic is trending, a lot of people will be searching for it and sharing it.  Wondering what is trending….just look on Facebook.   On the right side of your page you will see a list of trending topics.

4. Use Social Media Channels

Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Google+, etc, etc. Pick one, use it and master it. It is all about engagement. The more you can engage people in your  target audience, the more likely they will be to click your links when you do post them .

5. Be Interviewed On Podcasts

Connect with podcasters  and offer to contribute specific valuable content in the form of an interview. Make sure you have a very clear value proposition and then make the pitch. You will get turned down sometimes (especially if you’re just starting out), but the more you get yourself out there the easier it is to get out there.

6. Meetups and Other Events

When you attend a live event with like-minded individuals, you are able to make connections with people that can potentially open up the world of opportunities – even traffic opportunities.   Face to face events can help drive traffic to your blog.

7. Use Your Email Signature

Whenever you send an email, that’s an opportunity to introduce the recipient to your blog. Using a call to action in your signature can go a long way in getting someone to check out your content. You just might be surprised to see how many of your friends would love to check out your content.
