So what are your business goals for social media?
Some popular answers are:
- Expand my audience
- Grow my mailing list
- Increase my brand recognition
While all these are popular answers, one of the above should not be your goal for social media. Guess which one?
If you guessed “Sales” you are correct.
Social Media is About Being Social
Social media is about building relationships, being social, getting known. Yes eventually after they like, know and trust you, they may purchase something from you, but that isn’t your goal on social media.
You want to get more people to follow you, grow your list and increase recognition. Sounds easy, but it does require time, work, and consistency.
